Music Spotlight: Ginger (Album) by Brockhampton

Music Spotlight is a series that will be posted once or twice a month in which I’ll talk about something music related that I’ve been loving since the previous post. You can find all of the posts in the Music Spotlight tag.

In August, Brockhampton’s new album Ginger finally dropped. It’s their fifth album and has twelve tracks with music videos for four of those coming out on the lead up to the album’s release. Not only hearing but being able to see I Been Born Again, If You Pray Right, Boy Bye, and No Halo was really the perfect build up. Each of those songs are fantastic and not only was it a glimpse into how Ginger sounds but also the aesthetic and vibe that would be expected of their music videos which are often just as iconic as the songs themselves.

Music Spotlight: Immunity (Album) by Clairo

Music Spotlight is a series that will be posted once or twice a month in which I’ll talk about something music related that I’ve been loving since the previous post. You can find all of the posts in the Music Spotlight tag.

I’ll admit that I have definitely been sleeping on Clairo (real name: Claire Cottrill) but when her debut album Immunity dropped on August 2nd, it seemed to be all over my social media and a couple of days ago, I decided to check it out. I’m so incredibly happy about that because I fell completely in love the minute the first song – Alewife – started playing.

This entire album has basically been on repeat since I decided to give it a shot. It’s so captivating but it also works really well as background music. That’s because every part of Immunity is enjoyable. Every second is just as good as the last and any outliers are such because they’re better.
