Killjoys Season 5 Episode 4: ‘Ship Outta Luck’ Review

[Header Image: Luke Macfarlane as D’avin Jaqobis, Aaron Ashmore as John Jaqobis, and Hannah John-Kamen as Dutch | Syfy/Space]

We pick up pretty much where we left off last week, with Team Awesome Force arriving at a high-security prison. The sequence of Johnny and D’avin being questioned at the prison was really great, especially with Johnny trying to prove that he’s a Killjoy. It was interesting that they all got split up. Dutch and D’avin are in a bit of a predicament considering there’s not much they can do right off the bat but Johnny wastes no time in getting stuff done. And let me tell you, when Lucy’s voice came through, I screamed. I was not expecting to hear from her again so soon (if we ever did). Now, I know it’s technically not our Lucy but still, it’s a step in the right direction and it was really funny to hear this new version call him Sean by accident. I really hope we get her back properly at some point but even a new Lucy is better than no Lucy.

Killjoys Season 5 Episode 3: ‘Three Killjoys and a Lady’ Review

[Header Image: Aaron Ashmore as John Jaqobis, Luke Macfarlane as D’avin Jaqobis, and Hannah John-Kamen as Dutch | Syfy/Space]

Every episode I’m reminded as to why I love this show so deeply. I can honestly say that there’s no such thing as a bad episode of Killjoys. Some are better than others but overall it is such an entertaining show and you know each episode is going to be worth the watch. However, one of the other main things I adore about it, is the fact that it always manages to take me on a rollercoaster of a ride.

Top 15 Jane the Virgin Episodes

[Header Image: Gina Rodriguez as Jane Villanueva and Andrea Navedo as Xiomara Villanueva | The CW]

This post contains spoilers!

Recently, after five seasons, Jane the Virgin came to an end and I can safely say it’s one of my favourite shows of all time. It’s just incredibly well done and there’s something so comforting about it. That’s not to say it’s perfect because it’s not. There are definitely a handful of episodes (at least) that completely miss the mark but even those episodes are entertaining to watch. Regardless, with the show having finished with 100 episodes under its belt, I thought I would put together a list of my top 15 episodes.

Killjoys Season 5 Episode 2: ‘Blame It on the Rain ’ Review

[Header Image: Hannah John-Kamen as Dutch, and Kelly McCormack as Zeph]

This episode really highlighted one of my favourite things about Killjoys and that’s its ability to up the intensity/be dramatic while somehow still managing to throw in some humour that actually works. More often than not, there’s a perfect blend that has you going through a rollercoaster of emotions and this episode was definitely an example of that.

Killjoys Season 5 Episode 1: ‘Run, Yala, Run’ Review

[Header Image: Hannah John-Kamen as Dutch | Syfy/Space]

One of my favourite shows of all time is finally back and I couldn’t be happier about that. Unfortunately, this is also the last season but hopefully, considering they knew this going into it, the season will give us the perfect ending for such a wonderful show.

Season 4 ended with everyone’s lives being completely different. Dutch and Johnny were married and D’avin was still a Killjoy but he didn’t know either of them and had a warrant for Jaq who he didn’t seem to recognise either. In this episode, we also discover that Pree is a RAC agent and Zeph wanders the streets trying to figure out what is happening around them. No one remembers their lives from before and it was such a strange experience.

Trinkets Season 1 Review [Spoiler Free]

[Header Image: Kiana Madeira as Moe Truax, Brianna Hildebrand as Elodie Davis, and Quintessa Swindell as Tabitha Foster | Netflix]

So, starting Trinkets was primarily down to good timing if we’re being honest. I loaded up Netflix with the intention of finding something quick to watch and this show was on the homepage and a trailer for it began to play almost instantly. Now, the trailer alone was enough to get me interested but I also vaguely remembered people talking about it online and the best part was that it’s only 30 minutes (or less) per episode and there’s only 10 of them in total. So not only did it look like it would be a lot of fun but it was also the ‘something quick to watch’ that I had been looking for and I’m so glad I decided to give it a shot.

For anyone who doesn’t know, Trinkets follows three teenagers Elodie (Brianna Hildebrand), Moe (Kiana Madeira), and Tabitha (Quintessa Swindell) who are thrust into each others lives after meeting at a Shoplifters Anonymous meeting and quickly become friends. This first season explores that friendship but also follows the girls through their individual lives and personal struggles that involve everything from family to other relationships to school life.
