The biggest thing to happen this episode was the actual prom. Throughout the episode, Jughead and Betty have been trying to figure out who the Gargoyle King is. For a moment they suspect Edgar but are quickly disproved but not all is lost because they realise that the King will probably show up at prom. Watching Jughead and Betty investigate was actually really fun and gave me old school Riverdale vibes, I’ve definitely missed it a lot but things really did pick up by the time we got to prom.

Last week we saw that Jellybean had become involved in G&G and this week we see the Jones family work together to get her back. Finally, the truth about Gladys is out and as suspected, FP isn’t happy about it.

I feel like this episode and last week’s one are like the calm before the storm. While big (and arguably dramatic) things did happen, it looks and feels as if things are going to get more amped up during the rest of the season. The episode starts with a scene I knew was coming but was absolutely not prepared for. It was heartwarming to see the Hill family attempt to get ready for the day especially when Stan played the piano knowing that it would wake the kids up. They’re such a wholesome family that have been through a lot so it was nice to get a little moment like this. Only it doesn’t last too long before it’s ripped away by Turner when he shows up to arrest Stan.

It’s been several hours, I’ve even slept in that time, and I’m still not over how good this episode was. It was by far one of the best of Good Girls to date. Looking back over the episode to write this review, I genuinely can’t pick a favourite moment because it was all equally compelling. Even with Dean being annoying or Turner continuing to be frustrating, everything about this episode drew you in and overall there was this perfect balance between the comedy and the more dramatic side of the show.

After a brief hiatus, Riverdale is back with more episodes for season three. This week there are three main things going on: Betty investigating the Farm, Jughead and FP investigating the death of Baby Teeth, and Archie fighting in an upcoming match against one of Elio’s fighters. This episode was actually really well laid out and it felt like we spent a good amount of time with each storyline. Considering the overall structure of the season has felt a little bit all over the place, it was nice that we got some structure during this episode.

Firstly, let’s take a moment to appreciate (and scream about) the fact that Good Girls has already been renewed for season 3. While I’m not too surprised that it got renewed, I am surprised that it happened now. I was really expecting to have to wait until the end of the season but we finally have this fantastic news which means we get to enjoy the rest of season 2 knowing full well that we get more!
Anyway, with that being said, this episode primarily saw Beth trying to balance her business life and her family life and it’s safe to say that it isn’t working out. Good Girls is amazing at a lot of things but it is particularly good at intriguing montages. This time around we see one of Beth’s average routine. She gets up ridiculously early, leaves cute little post-it notes for her children, and then goes off to deal with the day. When she leaves in the morning it’s dark and when she returns it’s to a quiet house, it’s dark once again. She does this day in and day out. It’s even gotten to the point where she has a planner for her “business” side of things.
