Black Lighting Season 1 Episode 13: ‘Shadow of Death: The Book of War’ Review

The music playing during the funeral was very powerful, especially when mixed with the rain, and everything being in black and white. You can tell that that was the moment that Gambi decided he was going to look out for Jefferson and then even more once Jefferson used his powers for the first time.

Black Lighting Season 1 Episode 12: ‘The Resurrection and the Light: The Book of Pain’ Review

It feels like it’s been forever since we last saw Tobias. Now he’s being brought up to date with the ASA’s plans to try and make the people of Freeland docile, and now they want to use Tobias to track down Black Lightning because he’s seemingly the only one who has powers and survived, whereas the missing 30 kids are all slowly dying.

For now, we have the ASA off Jefferson’s back, or at least it seems that way. We’re almost at the end of the season now, which means there’s not much time to round things up. Black Lightning Season 1 Episode 9: ‘The Book of Little Black Lies’ Review

Although I hope this Gambi and Jefferson fight won’t last for too long, I did like that the episode started with their fight and Jefferson taking out all of his anger on the punching bag. Their fight can’t last too long because Anissa is starting to ask questions now and things are getting intense on so many different angles that they might have no choice but to put the past to one side, at least for now.

Black Lightning Season 1 Episode 8: ‘Revelations’ Review

Opening the episode by switching back and forth between Jefferson and Anissa training, and the news coverage of people talking about Black Lightning was a really fantastic way to start. It gave use two lots of information: that the police are hunting for Black Lightning and that he’s started training Anissa, all at one time.
