Good Girls | 4×11 – 4×16 Mini Reviews

Unfortunately, in mid-late 2021, this blog had to be put on the back burner and I was unable to finish writing my reviews for Good Girls.

Considering it’s by far one of my favourite shows of all time and it was sadly cancelled after 4 seasons, I figured I would compose the reviews for the last 6 episodes into one post as mini-reviews so that I can still get some of my thoughts out there for a show I have a lot of love and appreciation for.

Good Girls Season 4 Episode 5: ‘The Banker’ Review

Gathering evidence for the Secret Service was never going to be easy, right? This week’s episode sees Beth finally working for them now that the hit on Rio has been called off. Wearing a wire is definitely an obvious move but there’s never actually a chance to catch anything throughout the episode. When Rio doesn’t show up to drop near the beginning and the tracker on his car goes dead, it’s yet another confirmation of his suspicions after being tasked with taking out Fitzpatrick last episode.

Good Girls Season 4 Episode 1: ‘One Night in Bangkok’ Review

It’s that time of year again where I get to talk about one of my favourite shows! Good Girls is back with the premiere of its fourth season and it went surprisingly well despite being cut short at the end of the previous season. For those who were unaware, season three was supposed to have 16 episodes instead of 11 and based on interviews we should be getting those missing episodes at the start of this current season. With that in mind, I still think they did a great job kicking things off.

Episode one — One Night in Bangkok — doesn’t quite hit the ground running in the same way as the previous season openers but all things considered, it still works. There’s still a very similar energy to season three due to the original ending being moved but it’s hardly the first time this has happened. Season two started pretty much where the first season finished off before shifting gears to create a slightly different energy/vibe. In this case, there are five episodes of content missing from the end of season three so I can imagine it’s probably going to take slightly longer for those gears to shift but it’s bound to happen.

And let’s face it, it doesn’t stop the show from being as entertaining as always. The pacing of this episode might be a little on the slower side — especially when compared to other first episodes in the show — but it still has a lot going for it and still does a fairly great job at establishing the overall direction things might be going in this season.

Good Girls Season 3 Episode 8: ‘Nana’ Review

After coming home to find everything in her house had been taken, this week, Beth arms herself with a list she wrote at four in the morning to help her tackle what to do next. The first is to gain back Rio’s trust and that is exactly how we find ourselves watching the girls deliver a package and the reintroduction of a character that nobody likes.

Good Girls Season 3 Episode 2: ‘Not Just Cards’ Review

Only two episodes in and this season is already refusing to let me breathe. In this one, we get to see the first look at a post-Turner world and while it is a little freeing, it’s not necessarily easy. If this season is anything like the previous ones then these first three episodes should help to establish the trajectory of the season. So far, we’ve seen where the characters have ended up since the end of season two and now we’re moving into discovering where they’ll go.
