Killjoys Season 5 Episode 5: ‘A Bout, a Girl’ Review

We are officially at the halfway mark of this season and I’ll admit, I am holding my breath a little bit. So far, this final season has been really wonderful. It’s managed to give me a lot of great things but it is also still stressing me out. There’s so much that needs to be dealt with before the end of the season and I know that will be in some way, shape, or form but waiting for it is the hard part.

Take Johnny and Dutch, for example. Their friendship is so important and beautifully shown throughout the entirety of Killjoys. I even said in my review for last week’s episode that I understood what was going on between them and why Johnny was reacting the way that he is and I still do. I trust that the writers know how important their friendship is and it shouldn’t be ruined by any type of romantic feelings. However, while these are things I do understand, it’s stressful waiting for them to finally be their old selves around one another.

Killjoys Season 5 Episode 4: ‘Ship Outta Luck’ Review

We pick up pretty much where we left off last week, with Team Awesome Force arriving at a high-security prison. The sequence of Johnny and D’avin being questioned at the prison was really great, especially with Johnny trying to prove that he’s a Killjoy. It was interesting that they all got split up. Dutch and D’avin are in a bit of a predicament considering there’s not much they can do right off the bat but Johnny wastes no time in getting stuff done. And let me tell you, when Lucy’s voice came through, I screamed. I was not expecting to hear from her again so soon (if we ever did). Now, I know it’s technically not our Lucy but still, it’s a step in the right direction and it was really funny to hear this new version call him Sean by accident. I really hope we get her back properly at some point but even a new Lucy is better than no Lucy.

Killjoys Season 5 Episode 3: ‘Three Killjoys and a Lady’ Review

Every episode I’m reminded as to why I love this show so deeply. I can honestly say that there’s no such thing as a bad episode of Killjoys. Some are better than others but overall it is such an entertaining show and you know each episode is going to be worth the watch. However, one of the other main things I adore about it, is the fact that it always manages to take me on a rollercoaster of a ride.

Top 15 Jane the Virgin Episodes

[Header Image: Gina Rodriguez as Jane Villanueva and Andrea Navedo as Xiomara Villanueva | The CW]

This post contains spoilers!

Recently, after five seasons, Jane the Virgin came to an end and I can safely say it’s one of my favourite shows of all time. It’s just incredibly well done and there’s something so comforting about it. That’s not to say it’s perfect because it’s not. There are definitely a handful of episodes (at least) that completely miss the mark but even those episodes are entertaining to watch. Regardless, with the show having finished with 100 episodes under its belt, I thought I would put together a list of my top 15 episodes.

Killjoys Season 5 Episode 2: ‘Blame It on the Rain ’ Review

[Header Image: Hannah John-Kamen as Dutch, and Kelly McCormack as Zeph]

This episode really highlighted one of my favourite things about Killjoys and that’s its ability to up the intensity/be dramatic while somehow still managing to throw in some humour that actually works. More often than not, there’s a perfect blend that has you going through a rollercoaster of emotions and this episode was definitely an example of that.
