Good Girls Season 4 Episode 5: ‘The Banker’ Review

Gathering evidence for the Secret Service was never going to be easy, right? This week’s episode sees Beth finally working for them now that the hit on Rio has been called off. Wearing a wire is definitely an obvious move but there’s never actually a chance to catch anything throughout the episode. When Rio doesn’t show up to drop near the beginning and the tracker on his car goes dead, it’s yet another confirmation of his suspicions after being tasked with taking out Fitzpatrick last episode.

Good Girls Season 4 Episode 4: ‘Dave’ Review

[Header Image: Christina Hendricks and Beth Boland | NBC]

Unfortunately, due to some technical issues on my end, this review is incredibly late but alas, here we are.

With Dean in jail and the Secret Service aware of her crimes, Beth is working on figuring things out. Right off the bat, I want to say that I’m very intrigued by the whole witness protection thing. Even with promos and so on, I can’t fully decide whether I think it’ll actually happen or not but a big part of me is very into the idea of seeing Beth, Annie, and Ruby in protection.

Good Girls Season 4 Episode 3: ‘Fall Guy’ Review

This episode of Good Girls primarily deals with the fallout of last week’s episode. The girls have to find a fall guy in order to evade the law once again, therefore helping Dean and resuming their illegal activities but in typical fashion for this show, it’s not that straight forward.

While the Secret Service is still compiling evidence by searching Boland Bubbles, Beth tries to remain upbeat as she visits Dean. He’s cold towards her which considering the circumstances is hardly surprising but it also makes for an interesting turn around when he later pleads guilty, a move that is a little unexpected. As much as Dean can be a bit of an idiot, he’s got to know that blurting out Rio’s involvement could leave consequences for him (especially considering he got shot the last time Rio was crossed) but pleading guilty is so far in the opposite direction that it’s honestly not a move that I was expecting. It’s also got me wondering how things might progress.

Extracurricular Season 1 Review [Spoiler Free]

Ever since Extracurricular dropped on Netflix back in April 2020, I’ve been eager to watch it and I have to say, I’m so mad at myself for not watching it sooner.

This show follows Oh Ji-soo (Kim Dong-hee), a high school student who is engaged in a life of crime in order to graduate and escape a dead-end life. Along the way, things are thrown into chaos when someone from school finds out about his illegal side-business and from then on, things continue to get more dangerous and risky.

Throughout this review, I won’t be naming the aforementioned illegal side-business, mainly because it’s revealed in episode one and I, personally, found it more interesting to watch the reveal play out. That being said, the business does play a fairly big role in the overall story and is essentially another character in and of itself considering it has its own development as the season progresses. Also, the slightest change to it affects the human characters and vice versa making everything feel connected and raising the stakes throughout.

Good Girls Season 4 Episode 2: ‘Big Kahuna’ Review

[Header Image: Christina Hendricks as Beth Boland and Matthew Lillard as Dean Boland | NBC]

Throughout this episode, the net closes in on Beth and Dean as Dave, who we met properly last week, finds a way to get closer to them and push forward with his insistence of Dean’s guilt. This might only be the second episode of season four but considering this content would have made it into season three (if it hadn’t been cut short), things are already heating up pretty fast.
